Title:
Where Do You Go When Nobody Wants you? (Part 4)

This was it. I was leaving. I’d been more hurt than I thought ever possible. One thing I promised myself years ago was never to fall in love. Never to give a man the key to my heart. Never to give in to Cupid’s arrows. I fucking blew that, didn’t I?

“Bianca get your shit off my bed!” Chris complained.

“Just push it off, I’m too lazy to get it right now.” Bianca was engrossed in Scarlet Letter. She finally picked it up one day and hadn’t put it down since.

Chris looked at her on the top bunk and shoved her off. She screamed as she hit the floor.

“What the hell you jerk! I could have broken my neck!”

He smirked. “But you didn’t, so pick up your stuff. It’s all over the room.”

She looked around the room at her mess. Bianca didn’t even remember when that happened. “Help me?” She pushed her lip out in a pout.

Chris bent down and picked up one of her bras and threw it in her open suitcase. “There. I’ve done my share. You get the rest.” He walked out of the room to let her clean, feeling her glare on his neck.

After a good hour had passed, Bianca still hadn’t come out of the room and dinner was ready. Chris went to go check on her. The room wasn’t so messy that it couldn’t be done in thirty minutes. He opened the door and saw the room was spotless. Her suitcases were lined up alone the wall, his desk organized along with his books in the shelf. He looked for Bianca and found her on the bottom bunk with a half made bed she had been working on.

He smiled at her as he walked over to her. She looked so sweet when she was sleeping. He was feeling a little sad that she was leaving in two weeks. They had been at each other’s throats most of the time, but he remembered when they kissed that first time. He knew she was just like that, but he felt something in that kiss. He still could feel it. And he wanted it again.

Chris remembered what Bianca had told him, about just doing it; to not worry about consequences and all that boring junk. He leaned in and kissed her lips softly. Bianca shot up like lightning and stared around disoriented. Her hand flew to her lips and she looked over at Chris wide eyed. Chris fell back at her sudden movement and was sitting on the floor with a chuckle. She sat on his bed in silence, each just watching each other.

“Thanks for cleaning the room. I didn’t really mean the ent—“

“I know what you meant, but I thought about how I’ve kinda taken over your room…” She was still slightly out of it.

Chris moved onto his knees and leaned on his bed, inches from her face. She looked down at his lips and back at his eyes. He smiled as he closed the distance between them. He wrapped his fingers into her hair, pressing her against him as he breathed her in. She held onto his shirt, pulling him onto the bed with her. He hovered his body over hers as they continued to kiss.
“Dinner’s ready!” Mrs. Bowers yelled from the kitchen.

Chris stopped and looked down at Bianca; her hair was sprayed across his pillow and her eyes were as soft as her lips. He smirked as he pulled her off the bed with him. Bianca was quiet as they walked to the door. She grabbed his arm to stop him and he turned around.

“I’m leaving in two weeks… Why did you suddenly decide to kiss me now?” She asked confused. “Or kiss me at all?”

He shrugged. “Like Nike said.”

He walked out of the room and she nodded. “Just do it.” She sighed.

Bianca had been waiting for him to kiss her since she first did in the bathtub. She felt herself growing attached to him and she didn’t know when it happened. She didn’t even know what brought this on. Was it just the knowledge that she was leaving soon? Suddenly two months didn’t seem that long to her. She was going home soon, leaving this place behind.

Corky ran around the corner and yelled. “Bianca! Dinner’s getting cold!”

She snapped out of it and followed him to the table. Chris was smiling at her as he ate. Neither one talked during the entire dinner. She felt Mr. and Mrs. Bowers eyes on her with suspicion, but she didn’t speak until dinner was over.

“I think I’ll excuse myself. I’m going out to the steam room for a while,” she said briskly and walked out grabbing her coat and shoes. She put them on and walked outside in the dark. The wind was going as she pulled her hood up and headed to the small room in the distance.

A few minutes later, she stripped her jacket and shoes off and was sitting on the bench. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes. She could fall asleep in here easily. Just before she did, she heard a tap on the frosted door.

“Who is it?”

“Open up.”

“That’s not an answer,” she opened the door for Chris and he pushed in before the warm air could leave.

She stood inches from him before she moved back to the bench without making eye contact. Chris took his coat off and hung it up as he moved the bench across from her.

“Bianca, I’m sorry I kissed you.” He sighed.

She looked up in shock. “You’re sorry for it?” That hurt.

He nodded. “I shouldn’t have done it without your permission.”

Bianca stopped and bit her lip. So he still wanted to kiss her, he just thought she didn’t want to kiss him. She moved over to his bench and smiled. “You have my permission this time,” she dared him.

He placed his hand on her cheek as he leaned in to kiss her. She pulled back slightly for a second. “You’re not going to deny kissing me again, are you?”

Chris chuckled as he kissed her softly. “Maybe just a little denial.”

Bianca wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss. He lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he pushed her against the wall. She put her feet on the ground as she pulled on his shirt. He helped her pull it over his head as he worked her jeans off. They continued to kiss while the room got steamier. Soon they were both sweating and he laid her on the long bench, pulling her shirt off. Chris looked at Bianca hungrily. He’d been waiting much too long for this moment.

She laughed as he trailed kisses down her body. “Did we even lock the door?”

“Who cares?” He asked, moving back to her lips.

Bianca pushed him away as she thought. “Chris, I don’t want to do this.”

He stopped and looked up at her. “Why? I thought you did…”

“Yeah I do, but…I’m leaving soon. What good is falling for someone knowing I’m leaving?” She sighed sadly.

“You’re falling for me?” Chris asked quietly.

Bianca didn’t move for the longest time before barely making the motion of nodding. He sighed, resting his head against her stomach and she lay back against the bench. “Who said you have to leave in two weeks anyway?”

She moved away from him in an instant. “What?”

He sat up and stared at her longingly. “Who said you have to leave?” He asked again. “I love you. Don’t go.”

She shook her head as she grabbed her pants. “I’m not hearing this. That’s so stupid. I’m not staying in this godforsaken place just for some guy!”

Chris sighed. “You can’t honestly say you hat—“

“Yes, Chris, I can.” She cut him off as she pulled her boots on.

“I’m not just some guy,” he said angrily.

“You’re not worth staying for,” she said bluntly.

She yanked the door open and went out into the windy cold. She followed the soft glow from the house to lead her there. When she opened the front door she could hear Mr. and Mrs. Bowers talking in the kitchen.

“I think our plan is going perfectly. I told you she’d fall in love with Chris,” Mrs. Bowers said.

“I know she is, you saw how she acted at dinner. But I think Bianca is too stubborn. She’s going to leave before this works.”

“Let her leave! Chris will follow,” she laughed. “All we need is for her to fall in love and get married to him. Then we’ll finally be rich baby.”

“I don’t think Bianca is going to go for a marriage. Not even to Chris.” Mr. Bowers sighed.

“Oh hush, it’ll work. We still have two weeks. Chris is doing an amazing job. I’m so proud of him.”

Bianca was leaning against the door for support. They were using her? All of them! Especially Chris? She shook her head as tears fell. He was just after her money. She wiped her eyes as she tiptoed to Mr. and Mrs. Bowers bedroom where the only phone in the house was. She dialed home and her dad answered.

“Daddy? I want to come home,” she cried.

“Bianca? Is that you?” He asked in shock, he never heard her cry.

“I just want to come home, please.”

“What happened?” He hadn’t heard from her since he sent her there. He felt guilty for doing it and was ready for her to come home anyway.

She explained what she had heard and her dad was furious. He promised to have the jet ready for her and for her to pack her bags. She hung up and walked off to her bedroom. Chris wasn’t in there, she heard the shower running. Quietly she began to pack everything she had and got dressed in more decent clothes.

“Where you goin?” Corky asked from the doorway.

“I’m leaving.”

“It hasn’t been two months yet. My dad won’t fly you home.” Corky had a smile of triumph.

“That’s why my dad is flying me home,” she said shortly without looking up from her bags.

“Your dad is coming here?”

“Yes, now if you don’t mind I have to pack.” She slammed the door in his face.

Bianca grabbed a load of bags and started moving them to the living room. She made several trips until she was done.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Mr. Bowers laughed.

“I’m going home. My dad’s flying the jet to come get me.”

“Why are you leaving so soon?” Mrs. Bowers asked with a fake smile.

Bianca turned around and glared at them just as Chris walked out of the bathroom. “Because all of you are just using me to get to my family’s money. You’re all backstabbers. Here I thought you were just annoying clueless people in a deserted ice land, but I was wrong. I was wrong about all of you.” Her watery eyes fell on Chris’ as she took her bags outside.

Mr. and Mrs. Bowers didn’t say anything and Chris didn’t even understand what she was talking about. He was just glad she was leaving. “Good riddance,” he mumbled as he walked to his now empty room.

Bianca waited outside in the darkness. She had taken the keys to the truck and loaded up her bags before driving off towards the strip where Mr. Bowers’ plane was. It took a good hour, but she found the landing strip. She could feel her heart broken. After all this time and falling in love with Chris, it was all part of their plan. A very stupid plan for them to think she would ever get married, but he did it anyway. He tricked her into loving him and she fell for it. She fell for him…

A loud noise could be heard in the distance and she got out of the truck to see the lights from the jet. Wind whipped her hair around as the jet landed a good forty feet away from the truck. The engine cut off and her dad got out of the plane and ran to her. He wrapped her in a hug as she cried.

“Come on sweetie, let’s get your bags loaded. We’re getting you out of here.” Her dad took most of the suitcases and headed for the plane. Bianca took the remainder of them.

The plane ride home was long and quiet as she tried to dry her eyes and forget Alaska. She was right when she said she never belonged in that place. She just wanted to go home now and forget it ever happened.
